Demeter House Directors

Rod and Linda Wardlaw

Since our founding in 2006, Demeter House has been dedicated to creating a warm and welcoming environment that feels like family. Built on the principles of care, respect, and mutual support, our ethos centers around fostering strong relationships and personal growth. We believe that every student deserves not only a high-quality education but also a sense of belonging, safety, and encouragement to explore their unique potential. Our motto is ‘To every child, a chance’.

At Demeter House, education goes beyond the classroom. We strive to nurture the whole person, focusing on emotional well-being, resilience, and life skills that equip our students for the challenges of the future. With a supportive community and a tailored approach to learning, we aim to inspire confidence, curiosity, and a love of lifelong learning in every individual.

Here, every student is offered a new beginning, every voice is heard, and together, we create a place where everyone can thrive. Welcome to our family.

The Janus Project

The Janus Project

The Janus Project is an outreach service that we offer to help young people in Y7 and above to reintegrate into education when they may be unable to attend a school setting. We can work with young people on a part time basis at home, in their community or in a smaller setting to help engage them in education, either to transition into a school setting or to work with our staff on a longer term basis. Contact Hestia School for further information.
